Edwards
Moore
www.edwardsmoore.com
A recently established Melbourne architectural design studio, Edwards
Moore signifies the amalgamation of the contrasting methodologies
of Ben Edwards and Juliet Moore, connected by a mutual focus on
the integrity of the design. With projects extending from a laneway
theatre installation for the Melbourne International Design Festival,
to eco-pods, private residences, and larger scale corporate works,
Edwards Moore is a studio with an international outlook and a fascination
for all aspects of architecture and design. The practice employs
a holistic approach to sustainability concerned with effective passive
design principles along with an active approach to increased density
thought efficient design and an understanding of 'social' sustainability.
In addition to this, Juliet Moore, practice director, has had extensive
experience in the design and construction of a number of primary
schools, most notable Roberts McCubbin Primary School in Box Hill
South, and her involvement with these schools has lead to a desire
to encourage learning from an early age to promote the understanding
of the concept of 'sustainability'.

Statkus
Architecture
www.statkusarchitecture.com.au
Statkus Architecture is a young and energetic architectural practice
focused on considered, engaging and sustainable outcomes, established
by Ben Statkus a registered architect who has been in private practice
since 2004. We are primarily involved in projects for habitation,
from the smallest of kitchen renovations, extensions, new homes
and multi-unit projects. We have also been involved in retail, hospitality
and community projects. Statkus architecture also seeks engagement
with the wider community through architectural and urban competition
submissions, interviews and public art commissions, often collaborating
from those outside of the discipline of architecture.
Ben has lectured and tutored at RMIT University in the School of
Architecture in courses including design studios, communications
and ESD/technology from 2005 to 2010. Ben completed a Bachelor of
at RMIT University in 2005 with 1st Class Honours. His work was
included in the 2010 Venice Architecture Biennale, and has also
been exhibited at the Melbourne Museum, within State Ministerial
offices and has been short-listed for a Premier's design Award.
Our work seeks to invite, wonder, maximize, minimize, question,
assess, encourage, participate and speculate.

Angela
Woda
www.beateadfectus.com
Hi. I'm Angela, and I'm (almost) an Architect. There is a difference
between wanting to be an architect, and actually being one —
albeit a good one. I think a good architect needs to be a good adventurer,
and I'm working very hard on this. I've been fortunate to work along
side internationally renowned architects including Rob McBride and
Debbie Ryan from McBride Charles Ryan, and Hannah Tribe from Tribe
Studios. So far I've adventured though three very different types
of Architecture Schools. I've graduated with a Masters from RMIT
in Melbourne, after having studied at the University of Sydney as
well as the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Art in Copenhagen. These
three school have cultivated a habit of savagely digesting vast
arrays of spatial content and a lust for adventuring through the
wild and varied frontiers of the numerous dimensions of glorious
space. The trifector of my education has allowed me to develop a
more holistic understanding about not only the design process, but
the way it can impact on the lives of its inhabitants. Architecture
can shape the way we think about ourselves and the way we understand
our culture. In terms of relating to it's contextual site- whether
it be built or natural, architecture is in the thick of this debate.
In addition to this, I am a founding director of multidisciplinary
practice Beate Adfectus.
