Michelle
Dammous
Michelle is a graduate Interior Architect with experience in residential
architecture. She has worked in both Melbourne and New York and
teaches at Monash University. Her work with the Australian Sustainable
Built Environment Council strengthened her passion for ESD and expanded
her knowledge of sustainability in the built environment towards
policy level. Michelle also provides ongoing support to two homeless
housing organisations.

Fiona
Lew and Paul Porjazoski | BENT Architecture

Established in 2003, BENT Architecture is a vibrant young practice
at the forefront of architectural design in Victoria. The practice
has developed a diverse range of projects that have been widely
recognized and awarded. Most recently BENT was awarded first place
in the Growing Up Green Roof Competition, an initiative of the Committee
for Melbourne's Future focus group, demonstrating the benefits of
green roofs of city buildings.
Director Paul Porjazoski, who established the practice, is acknowledged
by his peers and one of Australias leading (emerging) young architects.
He has received numerous accolades for the work of the practice
and plays an active role in the Australian Institute of Architects,
including as a judge for the yearly awards process. He also maintains
an active casual teaching role at the University of Melbourne's
Faculty of Architecture.
Fiona Lew, a graduate architect, has most recently won the prestigious
'Glenn Murcutt' Prize for her design strategy and process for constructing
new accommodation for indigenous Australian young men living in
Australia's tropical far north. Having a particular interest in
projects of community collaboration, her university thesis involved
developing a prefabricated system that could be adapted for any
primary school for use as a kitchen classroom for the Stephanie
Alexander Kitchen Classroom Foundation.

Tom
Morgan + Carolyn Wong | Sharkmouse

Carolyn Wong and Tom Morgan are a pair of graduate architects with
an interest in the interpretation of play and design. Their practice,
Sharkmouse, has won awards for its speculative designs and has been
involved in art and design collaborations with inner city communities.
More generally, their interests turn toward social and sustainable
design approaches that serve the periphery. In their day jobs, they
have substantial experience with residential and institutional design.
Both are heavily involved with the independent architecture journal,
POST, and tom co-chairs the V-Yag body.

building designers and architects.

Barnaby

ConBarnaby Chiverton is the Principal of Chiverton Architects. The
practice undertakes a range of projects with a focus on residential
work. Barnaby has taught architecture at universities in Scotland,
Singapore and Australia. During his schooldays he endured hearing
his mother describing elaborate art projects in her capacity as
a primary school art teacher in the Scottish Highlands, now he loves
seeing his four year old son drawing and making cool things.

Eve Strano is the director of Etha Architecture, based in the Macedon
Ranges. Etha Architecture is focused on sustainable, contemporary
design in residential, institutional and landscape design. Eve has
experience working on fun, interesting and sustainable projects
in a number of Primary and Secondary Schools across Victoria with
the aim of heightening learning experiences. Institutional projects
are undertaken with direct input from principals (teachers and students
as schools required) ensuring that the designs relate directly to
the values and needs of schools.

Lisa

Lisa Brennan has worked in the architecture profession for the past
14 year and is the Director of Brennan Architects. Her architectural
experience has included the design and construction of environmentally
sustainable domestic projects as well as commercial and government
projects including primary and secondary schools and child care
centres. Lisa’s interest in art, history, culture and education
in Australia influence and inform her approach to architecture.
Lisa regularly presents architecture talks, projects and classes
at local primary and secondary schools in Melbourne. She has facilitated
an 'Architects and Builders in Schools' program, organised by the
Australian Institute of Architects, for the design and construction
of and architectural project with students at Melbourne Girls College.
She has also taught architecture and design classes at RMIT TAFE.
As an active member of the Australian Institute of Architects, Lisa
has also participated in various committees including the Build
Environment Education Forum, the Sustainable Architecture Forum
and the Education Committee. She is an active member of the architecture
community and is committed to educating the public about architecture
and about the promotion of ethical and
environmentally sustainable design.
